A brand new shirtwaister dress from The Seamstress of Bloomsbury… The “Roma” dress… yet another fabulous design from their extensive archive. Available in the classic Mayflower print and also in three of their new ‘Moonshine’ prints. Beautiful contrast edges on the collar and cuffs, pretty little gathers in the front yoke, inverted pleats on the sleeves, big button front and side zip for easy fitting… and a belt to adjust the waistline. No synthetic fibres in their signature Crepe De Chine fabric so a truly stunning garment which would make a beautiful addition to any wardrobe. A “Seamstress of Bloomsbury” Original, Simply the best quality fabric, attention to detail and authentic Lilian Wells design. Lilian was the original “Seamstress of Bloomsbury”.. She made beautiful items of clothing throughout the 1930s, 40s & Early 50s for London’s aristocracy, battling the Blitz & circumstances that we cant even begin to imagine, but never compromising on her quality or delightful craftsmanship.. She was a very private but wonderful woman and an inspiration to us all. Through this wonderful range of 1940s clothing we aim to continue her legacy..
