To make the most of this, Lee designed multiple styles or separates in the same print – a process we still use today, but back then, it was revolutionary. Wide leg palazzo-style pants became one of her signatures: a high waist, a long wide leg, a Bus Stop archive petal design flecked with Lee’s signature red, printed onto a vintage feeling Moroccan crepe, plus Joanie’s textbook pockets – it’s a match made in… well, London.
