PPE used to be the term that was bounced around in the workplace usually by someone officious looking with a penchant for Health & Safety videos followed by a ‘quiz’. Sadly midway through 2020 Face Masks and PPE have become everyday topics of conversation – how effective are they, where can we buy PPE and so on. Medics and healthcare personnel do not simply wear PPE as a uniform or just to keep their clothes clean – they don scrubs, blues, face masks, gloves and aprons for the primary purpose of protecting patients, staff and themselves from infection and avoidable contamination.
Coronavirus – or Covid-19 has elevated PPE and Hand Sanitizers into the commodity big league rather unexpectedly. It would also eem that for better (and better) hygiene and personal health risk management are habits that will be highly visible for a long time.
We looked at some examples of PPE, supplied in the UK by wholesalers The Towel Shop in Bolton, Lancashire in response to the demand for face masks, face shields etc. Additionally there is now a category on our website ‘PPE‘ that features products that our fashion partners have started to stock or manufacture in response to the pandemic: https://wearandstare.co.uk/product-category/promotions/ppe/
